Proper Production

Posted by David Wolffe on

If I stop to think about this, it could be overwhelming. I've dashed straight from Germany and the trade show directly to the factory in China to spend a couple of days reviewing production before heading off to the long-planned family holiday in Turkey. It is all a mad rush and I don't really have time to think about the reality of what I'm doing and what is happening. As I tour round the factory I'm stunned by what I'm seeing. There are piles of Wolffepack sub-assemblies completed, sewing machines busy with Wolffepack work, and finished Wolffepack backpacks building up...

OutDoor Show at Friedrichshafen

Posted by David Wolffe on

I love road trips, travel, meeting people, good company, and telling people about the Wolffepack. That's why our trip to the OutDoor trade show in Friedrichshafen has been such a blast. With the incomparable Louis Wallinger by my side, charming, intelligent, and funny, it is only slightly annoying that he is also much better looking than me. I'll get over it. He's doing a great job of demonstrating the Wolffepack and selling our innovation to an incredibly receptive trade audience. The journey starts with a road trip across Europe, starting with the cross-channel Ferry, and ending with a stunning ride...

Ramping Up Again

Posted by David Wolffe on

It has been a very tough month. My mother died after struggling for 3 years with a very tough disease, acute leukaemia, or AML to be specific. Building a new business from scratch is a tough assignment, but dealing with such a loss is enormous. I take strength from the fact that she was so supportive of Wolffepack and was determined that it would succeed. I hear her voice telling me to get up and get going, so I will. There have many kind messages of sympathy and support. It has been a heartwarming illustration of the generosity of spirit...

Testing Wolffepack on the slopes

Posted by David Wolffe on

As a family, we love our skiing. It has been a wonderful holiday that we've been lucky enough to repeat every year for the last few years.  The snow record in Europe has been a bit variable, but most of the time has been really good, especially in the higher resorts. That's been great for us because we've enjoyed skiing later in the season when the slopes are a bit emptier, and the weather is sunnier. This year it was off to Chatel in France, and a naturally a great opportunity to try out the Wolffepack Escape on the pistes....

New office space

Posted by David Wolffe on

We've recently moved into our new office space in an amazing and historic building, and have just finished kitting it out. It feels like another exciting step forward for our start-up.  Hornsey Town Hall is a Grade 2 Listed building of outstanding architectural significance. It was the first post-Victorian modern public building built in the UK and it has much art deco about it. There is a stream of TV and film production companies that flows on and off the site because it looks and feels so much like a film set. The building used to be the headquarters of local...
